3702: Northolt Branch Observatories

The NEOCP object, A10miO2, that we observed recently, has now been designated 2020 JY1. It is an Apollo-type asteroid with a diameter of 25-58 metres.

2020 JY1 was first observed at ATLAS-MLO, Mauna Loa on May 15th. It makes a close approach on May 22nd, at a distance of 0.0079 au (1.2 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +19.5 mag, moving at 3.9″/min through the constellation of Virgo.

3694: Northolt Branch Observatories

The NEOCP object, C172771, that we observed last night has now been designated 2020 JT1. It is an Apollo-type asteroid with a diameter of 41-93 metres.

2020 JT1 was first observed at Catalina Sky Survey on May 14th. It made a close approach today, at a distance of 0.0253 au (3.8 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +18 mag, moving at 53″/min through the constellation of Coma Berenices.

The NEOCP object, P1103bS, that we observed last night has been designated 2020 JY. It is an Amor-type asteroid with a diameter of 37-84 metres.

2020 JY was first observed at Pan-STARRS 1, Haleakala on the 12th of May. It makes a close approach on May 17th, at a distance of 0.01617 au (2.4 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +18.5 mag, moving at 21″/min through the constellation of Hercules.

The NEOCP object, C2QRMY2, that we observed last night has been designated 2020 JR. It is an Apollo-type asteroid with a diameter of 30-68 metres.

2020 JR was first observed at Mt. Lemmon Survey on May 6th. It made a close approach on May 5th, at a distance of 0.01120 au (1.6 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +17.2 mag, moving at 47 “/min through the constellation of Corona Borealis.

2020 JH was first observed at Catalina Sky Survey on May 2nd. It made a close approach on May 1st, at a distance of 0.0666 au (9.9 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +18.4 mag, moving at 28 “/min through the constellation of Ursa Major.

2020 HU5 was first observed at Catalina Sky Survey on April 24th. It made a close approach on April 23rd, at a distance of 0.0305 au (4.5 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +18.1 mag, moving at 44 “/min through the constellation of Virgo.

2020 GB was first observed at Mt. Lemmon Survey on April 2nd. It will make a close approach on the 4th of April, at a distance of 0.01574 au (2.3 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +18.5 mag, moving at 35 “/min, through the constellation of Leo. 2020 GB is fading slowly.
