3740: Northolt Branch Observatories

2020 JY1 is an Apollo-type asteroid with a diameter of 25-56 metres. It was first observed at ATLAS-MLO, Mauna Loa on the 15th of May 2020. It made a close approach on May 22nd, at a distance of 0.0079 AU (1.2 million km) from Earth.

We observed 2020 JY1 at magnitude +17, moving at 35″/min through the constellation of Hercules.

Observamos 2020 JY1 em magnitude + 17, movendo-se a 35 “/ min através da constelação de Hércules.

SCIENCE/ASTRONOMY

The NEOCP object, A10miO2, that we observed recently, has now been designated 2020 JY1. It is an Apollo-type asteroid with a diameter of 25-58 metres.

2020 JY1 was first observed at ATLAS-MLO, Mauna Loa on May 15th. It makes a close approach on May 22nd, at a distance of 0.0079 au (1.2 million km) from Earth.

We observed it when it was visible at +19.5 mag, moving at 3.9″/min through the constellation of Virgo.
